This was featured by Torch on Jalopnik today. He’s for it cause it’s wacky. Cool. It’s dumb though. here is my comment that sums up my feelings

About as effective as walking, but more expensive, awkward, and subject to motorized vehicle limitations and rules.

I’m for car. Car good. My backpack is my Land Cruiser because it holds my bed and my food for when I want to go to places I would normally have to sweat to get to. However...walking is good too and I can’t figure out for the life of me why we seemed determined engineer away our legs.

I can see how some not-walking devices make sense if they increase your speed and range, but this thing looks barely faster than a walk and it looked like it takes about 10 minutes to set up and take down.

The IDEA of inflatable transport is...also dumb....sorry. I was thinking maybe it wasn’t, then I remembered all my air mattresses, pool float, inflatable kayak, et al experiences and remembered that no - Inflatable transport is inferior to rigid transport. I have never owned anything that relies on air for structure that hasn’t failed on me....not that I can think of anyway. Tires I guess. Tires are alright.

Seriously though...why are we so eager to engineer ourselves out of living?

I agree with you, but the makers will become rich off of it. Perfect for retirement communities when it doesn’t make sense to use the golf cart. An option for students on campus, especially for the ones that suffer from a FOMO.

And drunk ass fraternities/sororities will use it for jousting, just before heading to the ER -- with or without handcuffs

I, for one, am quite excited about the impending Poimo Drift GP.

I, for one, wonder how far the concept could be taken... Like, you know those inflatable, wearable bubble things?

What if that, but it’s like a little dune buggy? Those would be the most fun things in the world to crash into stuff with! And if you made them three-wheeled, you could have fun tumbling over in the corners! Actually, that would make the perfect first car for a teenager... Just a big protective bubble! Unless it pops, of course. P erhaps it could be engineered a bit like the Goodyear Inflatoplane, which seemed to maintain structural integrity fairly well. They say it could even survive being shot like four times and keep flying! Man, I’m gonna be thinking about inflatable cars ideas all night...
